Daily Scripture Reading: Luke 23:46
“Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, ‘Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!’ And having said this he breathed his last.” Luke 23:46 (ESV)
We’ve looked at the life of Jesus over the last 36 days, and now we come to this drastic verse. The Word, who existed in eternity past, spoke no more. The Breath of God, who breathed life into our mortal bodies, had taken His final breath. It was the plot twist that no one could have imagined. Jesus the Messiah had gone to the cross and suffered to the point of death. His final words were a prayer of obedience: “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!”
Sit still and reflect on this incredible moment in history. What does this prayer mean for you today?
HOPE IS ALIVE
Here we are. We’ve made it to Easter, and we’ve made it through 40 Days of Lent. How did it go? Do you understand the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus better? Do you feel closer to Him?
Perhaps these last 40 days have shown you that our hope is alive. That’s a truth worth celebrating! We pray that this month has given you a sense of renewal and drawn your heart closer to Jesus.
DON’T STOP NOW!
Thank you for taking this journey with us. We hope this is just the beginning of a deeper relationship with Jesus for you. We also hope you’ll continue to remain devoted to Bible study after Easter and through the rest of this year.
