40 Days of Lent | Day 18: A Movement Based on Hope

Daily Scripture Reading: Luke 8:1-3

“Soon afterward he went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities…” Luke 8:1-2 (ESV)

What caused a group of women to leave their lives behind just to support this Man called Jesus? The answer: a radical encounter with this very Man that changed their lives forever. Mary Magdalene had seven demons removed from her life. Many had diseases cured just like that! In a day when women were often marginalized and left out, Jesus met them with hope. Their response? Going all-in so others could experience the life-changing movement of Jesus.

Look back and consider what Jesus has already done in your life. Then think forward and answer this question, “How am I getting behind the movement of Jesus so that others can experience His life-changing work?”
