Daily Scripture Reading: Luke 7:18-23
“In that hour he healed many people of diseases and plagues and evil spirits, and on many who were blind he bestowed sight. And he answered them, ‘Go and tell John what you have seen…’” Luke 7:21-22 (ESV)
A bold preacher, John the Baptist, sends some messengers to ask Jesus a bold question. “Are you the One?” Even after baptizing Jesus and hearing God declare that Jesus was
His Son, John still asked the question. This question came after two years in prison. Two years to wonder and doubt. The bottom line is, John lost some of his hope. Jesus responded, not with backlash or a gasp of betrayal, but with words of hope.
You might be in a place just like John. Maybe you’re in a tough situation that has been going on for what seems like forever. You need to ask a bold question to Jesus. Go ahead—ask it! He can handle it, and He will answer it with hope.
